Message from Jim Koan, Superintendent

“From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God” (Chris Tomlin)

These words come to mind as I reflect on this past weekend’s visit to the Grand Canyon. God’s awesome power and His creativity are on display, not just up there, but all around us.

Scripture says…

“God’s glory is on tour in the skies,
God-craft on exhibit across the horizon.
Madame Day holds classes every morning,
Professor Night lectures every evening.

Their words aren’t heard,
Their voices aren’t recorded,
But their silence fills the earth:
Unspoken truth is spoken everywhere.” Psalm 19:1-4

It is humbling to stand on the edge of that vast chasm and know that the God who created this world, with all its beauty and uniqueness and vitality is the God who loves us, and made each of you beautiful , unique, and vital to Him.
